What is CTV — and how do CTV ads actually work?

CTV (Connected TV) is any television set that streams content over the internet — through a smart TV operating system, a streaming stick (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast) or a console. Viewers watch ad-supported services like Pluto TV, Roku Channel, Tubi, Samsung TV Plus and the ad tiers of the major streamers.

  1. 01

A viewer presses play on an ad-supported stream

The streaming app calls its ad server for a commercial break — exactly like a linear TV break, but personalized per household.

  2. 02

    An auction runs in milliseconds

The impression is offered to programmatic exchanges (OpenRTB). Our DSP receives the bid request with device, content, geo and household signals — no cookies needed.

  3. 03

Adora bids and wins the impression

Our bidder values the impression against your ROAS / KPI targets, attaches the right 15s or 30s creative and wins the slot.

  4. 04

    The ad plays full-screen, non-skippable

TV-quality video on the biggest screen in the home, with viewability and completion measured digitally and tied back to app installs, site visits or sales.

[ Always-on AI ]

Auto-optimized to your ROAS and KPI goals.

Set your target — ROAS, CPA, CPI, ROI, retention day-X — and our in-house AI takes the wheel. It reallocates spend, prunes underperforming placements and reshapes bids every few minutes, 24/7, across every format above.

Target-driven bidding

Each bid is priced against your ROAS / KPI goal, not a flat CPM. Wins are weighted by predicted value.

Predictive LTV models

Neural models score every impression for downstream value before we spend a cent.

Auto creative rotation

Winners get more spend, losers get paused — automatically, per placement and per audience.

Real-time pacing

Budgets are smoothed across the day so you never overspend a noisy hour or starve a great one.
